Proven Intervention to Close Maths Gaps for All Students

National Statistics:

Every year, a third of students fail to reach age expectation at the end of Year 6 (SATs) and a third fail to achieve a grade 4 or above in Maths GCSE.

Our research within individual schools shows these are the same students.

Students who fall behind in maths find it difficult to keep up with future maths learning. This can also affect a student’s self-esteem, motivation and confidence and even lead to problems with behaviour, avoidance and attendance.

We work with with schools and colleges running our maths intervention to rebuild the primary learning gaps for these students and setting them back up on the road to success and confidence.

Through an initial assessment across 20 areas of maths, we create a personalised “Roadmap” of intervention to target gaps in understanding using our own videos and worksheets. Progress is closely monitored to rebuild strong maths foundations.

We have completed Published Research with Professor Codina (Professor of Inclusion, Special Educational Needs and Disability (ISEND), based at the University of Derby. This research records not only students’ academic achievements from using our approach, but also the effect on their confidence, behaviour, attendance and motivation to learn.
